Return
Record a product return against the relevant product, customer or order, and field or delivery activity.
Codithic DMS
Manage product returns and replacements
as part of the connected DMS and field-execution workflow.
Handle returns and replacements through connected field, delivery, inventory, and reconciliation workflows in Codithic DMS. Return and Replacement remain distinct operational paths.
Key capabilities
Returns and replacements are part of the operational product lifecycle. Codithic DMS connects these activities with order, inventory, field, delivery, and reconciliation processes.
Record a product return against the relevant product, customer or order, and field or delivery activity.
Associate a replacement with the relevant product and order context, where supported. A return is not automatically a replacement.
Relate returned or replacement products to inventory information, including batch-based inventory where relevant. Stock is not adjusted automatically.
Relate return and replacement records to operational reconciliation and closeout. This is operational closeout, not financial accounting.
How it works
A connected operational process for handling returned products, replacements, and their downstream operational context.
Product / Order Context → Return or Replacement → Inventory Context → Reconciliation. Returns and Replacement is a Codithic DMS capability. Return and Replacement may follow different operational paths. A return does not automatically become a replacement, and inventory or reconciliation activity is not generated automatically.
Start from the relevant product and customer or order context already present in DMS.
Follow the appropriate operational path when a product is returned or replaced.
Keep the activity connected to inventory information where relevant.
Close the operational cycle through reconciliation and the relevant downstream workflow.
Return and Replacement may follow different operational paths. Recording a return does not automatically create a replacement. Inventory context and reconciliation stay connected to the activity. They are not automatic stock adjustments, and reconciliation here is operational closeout.
Operational connections
Codithic DMS is the core management platform for returns and replacements. Codithic SFA is the mobile-first field execution layer. The two paths stay connected to surrounding DMS processes without becoming the same workflow.
Both use product and order context, but the operational activity differs.
A product is returned through a supported field or delivery process.
Product / Order → Return → Inventory Context → Reconciliation
A replacement product is handled against the relevant product or order context, where supported.
Product / Order → Replacement → Inventory Context → Reconciliation
These are conceptual paths, not guarantees of automatic stock adjustments or identical processing steps.
Van Sales can record a return or a replacement, then reconciliation and unload where that field cycle continues. SFA is the field layer. DMS keeps the records.
A delivery can include return collection, then reconciliation and unload where that workflow applies. Not every return starts from a delivery.
Returned and replacement products stay connected to operational stock context. Stock is not adjusted automatically.
Records connect to operational reconciliation and unload where the workflow continues. This closeout is not financial accounting.
Business value
See return and replacement activity in the same DMS layer as orders, field work, delivery, and inventory.
Support Van Sales return and replacement activity, and delivery return collection, as field execution connected to DMS.
Keep returned and replacement products connected to operational inventory context.
Connect returns and replacements with reconciliation and unload as part of the operational cycle.
